GENERAL INFORMATION

Weather

The weather in Vilnius during September and beginning of October is usually pleasant, mild and reasonably dry, with an average temperature fluctuating between 8°C and 17°C. The days are still warm and sunny, however, the rain is still likely, so an umbrella and windproof jacket is recommended. Whatever the weather, it is always perfect to explore Vilnius!

Language

Lithuanian is the official language in Lithuania. The official language of ESPN 2023 Congress is English, interpretation service will not be provided.

Credit cards

Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted in Vilnius. American Express isn’t used as much as Visa and MasterCard. Always have some cash in your pocket as back up.

Currency and Bank services

The currency is the Euro (€). The majority of stores accept international credit and payment cards. There is also a wide network of ATMs where you can withdraw cash.

Telephone and Communications

The international dialing code from abroad is +370. For international calls, dial 00 + national code + area code + personal number.

Electricity - Plugs and adapters

The power plugs and sockets are of type C and F. The standard voltage is 220 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.

Public transport

It is made up of bus and trolleybus lines. The extensive network of public transport connects each of the city’s districts and is easy to navigate. Timetables are available at every stop. The Vilnius Citizens Card is an electronic ticketing system used throughout the city’s public transport network. City guests are recommended to use the public transport journey-planning app TRAFI. The app combines all transport options in real times and lets users compare prices and timing with just a few clicks on www.trafi.com.

Time in Lithuania is given by Eastern European Time (EET; UTC+02:00).

Insurance and Liability

Delegates are advised to arrange health and accident insurance prior to traveling to the congress. ESPN is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage, accident to private property or additional expense incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, sea, road or other services, strikes, sickness, weather or any other cause.
